This country note takes stock of how carbon prices on greenhouse gas emissions have evolved in the United States between 2018-21. It estimates effective carbon prices resulting from carbon taxes, emissions trading systems, and fuel excise taxes net of fossil fuel subsidies for 7 economic sectors.
